01. What are the dates for the school year?

We go from the end of August until the middle of May. Orientation is on August 26-27. Graduation is on May 18. We take a 1-week break at Thanksgiving but not during the smaller holidays throughout the year. Christmas break is December 17 - January 2.

02. How much does Radiant School of Ministry Cost?

  • The cost for the Full Time Program is $5,450 per year.
  • This includes classes, practical ministry training, personal discipleship and mentoring, 3 retreats, a 1-week mission trip in a major US city, books, and attendance at Arise Shine Conference and other special events.
  • Also, we will train and equip you to raise financial support for your 6-week ministry expedition as a part of the curriculum.

03. Can I attend for 1 Year Only?

  • Yes. Year one is designed for all believers, regardless of if you are planning on going into full-time ministry. However, year 1 is required to participate in year two.

04. Is there a part-time option available?

  • If you live in the Kalamazoo area, we have part-time, night-school options available. Part-time students will meet one evening per week during the school year.

05. Where is Radiant School of Ministry Located?

  • Radiant School of Ministry is located in the trendy college city of Kalamazoo, MI.

06. Are food and housing included at Radiant School of Ministry?

  • No, each student is responsible for finding their own housing in the Kalamazoo area. After acceptance, we can offer suggestions for finding a healthy place to live.

07. Is Radiant School of Ministry affiliated with any church or network?

  • Radiant School of Ministry is an expression of Radiant Church in Kalamazoo, MI and a part of the Radiant Network. However, we train people from every part of the church that are hungry for our DNA of a Presence-driven church.

08. What is an expedition?

  • An expedition is a life-changing ministry adventure outside of Kalamazoo that every Radiant School of Ministry student will embark on.

09. What classes are included in the curriculum?

  • There are over 25 classes that will be covered during the year, including: Bible Survey, Identity in Christ, Intimacy with Jesus, Time Management, Personal Evangelism, Missions, History of Revival, Foundational Theology, Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Calling Discovery, and Relationships & Sexuality.

10. Is this school accredited? Will I receive college credit?

  • This school is designed to equip you practically, form you spiritually, and mentor you personally, so it is fundamentally non-academic in nature. We believe to prepare disciples and ministers in our world today, we must focus completely on the spiritual formation, life transformation, and practical equipping that is necessary. We have chosen not to put any sideways energy into accreditation.

11. What are the requirements for attending?

  • Simply, that you want a real relationship with God and to make a difference with your life. We also require a pastor’s reference, another reference, and a high school diploma or GED.

12. Will I be able to work a job while I am in school?

  • Radiant School of Ministry is a full-time school, but we recognize being able to work is how many students are able to afford their training. We have structured the school so that most classes are all in the mornings and Friday is completely free to help students get part-time jobs while they study if necessary.

13. What is the schedule for Radiant School of Ministry?

  • The school classes and training times are all Monday-Thursday morning and afternoon.
  • Tuesday evenings are set aside for discipleship and mentoring times.
  • You will be involved in 8-10 additional hours a week of practical ministry.
  • You will be involved in 3-5 additional hours a week of prayer and time in God’s presence.
  • Between class time, ministry time, discipleship time, prayer time, and homework--you should plan to spend approximately 35 hours/week on your participation in the Radiant School of Ministry.

14. Is there an age limit?

  • Radiant School of Ministry is for all ages! Since the full-time program has a major discipleship component, that portion of the curriculum will be geared toward 18-25 and Part-Time is for all ages. There is no consideration given to age for acceptance, other than the requirement of a high school diploma or GED certificate.

15. Do you accept international students?

  • Yes, however, if you are an International student accepted into the school it is up to you to provide a traveling Visa that will allow you to participate in the United States. We do not provide student visas.
